Anna Blazhiyevska

anna

Anna Blazhiyevska is a native Ukrainian artist, who takes the centuries-old European tradition of painting on wooden eggs and plates and incorporates her own style. Designs include modern, landscape and traditional Ukrainian (Petrikivka floral patterns). Artist uses acrylic paint and completes with a gloss finish.

In ancient times, eggs represented the sun, warmth, light and the end of the cold winter time. Exchanging eggs as small gifts between friends during the holidays became a custom during the pagan times. In European Orthodox Christian culture, it is a tradition to exchange painted eggs on Easter as a symbol of life and renewal. A decorative egg or plate would make a beautiful bright accent to your home.
